Multi-Site Radio Trunking Infrastructure...

Fylde PCM 6u Switch frame

The PCM Switch is installed at the Regional node alongside the Regional Control Processor and in its simplest configuration, allows the routing of audio paths between base station sites. Additionally, the switch may be used to allow patching between base station ports and the PSTN/PABX telephone network as well as Line Dispatcher terminal.

Fylde PCM Switch E1 / T1 card

Connection to E1/T1 digital lines..

Connection to E1 / T1 digital lines. Analogue and digital cards utilise the same form factor and maybe installed in the same switch frame. Each digital card offers up to 30 ports, connected directly to an E1 line. Connections to a T1 circuits provide the standard 24 ports. Fractional 64kbps circuits and telephone signaling are not supported.

Fylde PCM 4 port card

Connection to analogue PABX / PSTN..

Each analogue card offers 4 private circuit connections or 2 PABX / PSTN and 2 private circuit connections. Each port is presented on a standard RJ45 socket.

Fylde Regional Control Processor 2u frame

Connect up to 10 sites on a single region..

The Regional Control Processor is used to connect together up to 10 sites to form a regional coverage network. The RCP performs all the Inter-site call set-up management tasks, including PSTN, PABX's and hardwired dispatchers (MHD).

Fylde - Inter-regional processor

The Inter Regional Processor (IRP) allows systems of greater than 10 sites to be constructed. The IRP is based on an industrial grade PC with a silicon RAM or Fast Flash drive for improved performance. There are no moving parts associated with the call set-up aspects of operation and traditional hard disk drives are only used for booting the machine and logging call information. This ensures the best possible reliability.

PCM switchImplementation with a PCM Switch...

The IRP can be implemented either with or without a PCM switch at the same site. If implemented without a PCM switch, inter regional audio circuits will need be assigned between each regional node. If a PCM switch is used with the IRP, a Star/Delta configuration can be implemented for greater reliability. Note that if Inter-Regional Group calls are required then the IRP must have a locally connected PCM switch, unless the system is only 2 regions.
