Future Migration to Digital - DMR & dPMR Protocols
Fylde
Micro's Low Risk Digital Migration Strategy
Fylde
is a founder member and active contributor to the groups writing new
dPMR and DMR digital radio protocols. Fylde is therefore fully aware
of the complexities and demands in implementing these standards. It
is the Fylde way to always ensure compatibility and upgrade paths for
current and new users to our systems. Many years of planning have gone
into the Fylde migration strategy. We guarantee to provide upgrade
paths for all our customers, allowing the interconnection of existing
and future Fylde networks when the newer digital equipment becomes
available. Others have made some wild claims of upgradability of analogue
equipment to DMR recently. Time will tell whether this can be delivered.
The next generation Fylde trunking controller - Available in 2011
MultiLingo is the next generation Fylde trunking controller. This, our 4th
generation controller, will support MPT1327, DMR, dPMR and conventional
systems. More than that, MultiLingo has been designed to support these
protocols within the same radio site. This allows customers to select their
protocol of choice as and when they are ready. Note however that the repeater
requirements are much more demanding for DMR (TDMA) than for analogue or
indeed dPMR (FDMA).. MORE

NETWORK
BRIDGE - Legacy network to new TSC04 network
Large
established Fylde network users invariably have an Inter-regional
Processor or IRP. This device provides the connection for
up to 16 regional controllers (RCPs). The IRP hardware will
in most cases require little or no alteration. A new version
of Fylde software will be installed to provide a ‘bridge’
from the legacy TSCC01/02/03 based system to the new Multilingo
TSC04 equipment.
